We had the good fortune of connecting with JOYFULlIGHT HEALING and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JOYFULlIGHT, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I believe that art in general speaks volumes that we can’t verbally express. My poetry was created to help the theta feel seen and heard. My entire purpose for existing is to be a light of this world and to invite others to want that same aspect about their lives.

The poetry I created was originally created to help me heal and move past my hurt, but God told me to make it public because if I could heal then others could too by feeling understood. My poetry is trauma based and this world has experienced way too much and I want them to know that they can make it out on top. We are not victims we are victors!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I always say this, God sets me apart and nothing else. This journey has not been easy but it has been my journey that I am enjoying. I learned to accept what comes my way and to grow from it. I never stay stuck in the mud or in the victim mindset. The more I grow the more I can lead and shine for God.

I want the world to know that their story isn’t finished and that if they are strong enough they can be the main character of their life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s go to as many food places and possible and as many museums! I would also explore parks, hiking areas, and arcades.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout-out to God because without God I wouldn’t have been able to do anything!

I would also love to give a should put to my family for always being on my side and not against me. I have a very loving family that is so supportive of my decisions, but they also raised me to be strong enough to make this commitment.

I would lastly like to give a shout-out to Amanda Gorman because she is one beautiful poet and black woman that showed me that anything is possible.
