We had the good fortune of connecting with Areyelle McGee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Areyelle, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana. I was raised by my educated well rounded mother with the help of my grandmother and great grandmother. My upbringing and background has taught me to not make any excuses, that anything I wanted out of life was achievable. I’ve watched my mother achieve so much and still be a great mom.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the moment I run three businesses, under one brand name but different sectors. The brand name is Revynge. I have Revynge Luxury Boutique which is my online clothing boutique that I have been having for 8 years in April. Revynge Sports, a sports sunglass brand that myself and my husband been operating for the last three years. The last one is Revynge Productions, where I hosted events like popup shops, a father- daughter dance, vision board parties, assist others with putting events together, and photo-booth rental. I’ve been doing the production business for about 6 years. While running all of these businesses I’ve learned that consistency is key. I’m proud to say that I grew my businesses from the ground up, growing them wasn’t extremely hard but it also wasn’t super easy. I feel like when you have a plan it’s easier to attack your goals. It’s when things that you plan don’t work out and you have to pivot is when it gets hard and discouraging. I want people to know when they support any of my brands they support others, because we do a lot of giving back in the community, wether it’s with sponsorships, free products, donating clothes, school supplies giveaways and much more.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I feel like our first stop would be Grace’s on Kirby, the food and drinks are amazing!!! Everything is A-1 every time. I feel like to hang out, for happy hour or just a chill vibe I would take her to Prospect Park, unmatched vibes no matter the time of day. We would have to do lunch at lotus for sure. I’m not really big on going to the club but if I had to pick it would probably be Kamp or 5015. We love concerts so hopefully there would be a concert in town but if not dinner at Kiss would do, the ambience is EVERYTHING!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
