We had the good fortune of connecting with The Pint Exchange and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our main thought process was creating something that we were proud of, something that stemmed from our love for not only craft beer but supporting local. We wanted to make sure that what we were doing mattered. We also wanted to make sure that we capitalized on our individual talents, so we not only created The Pint Exchange but also TPX Media, which will represent, much of the media portion of the brand.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The main thing that sets us apart is that we are a fully minority owned brand, but we do not let that define us. We also set ourselves apart through our knowledge and creativity. We also love to give back, so we are continuously putting on community events as well. This definitely has not been easy as we have had our challenges. We overcome them by communicating and using both of our life experiences to address the issues.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With the city growing so fast there are so many great places we feel would be great to visit. As far as breweries, there are so many stemming from old to new. If you’re visiting you definitely need to check out the oldest, Saint Arnold. The view of the city is unrivaled. True Anomaly is also a great place in EADO with lots of various places for entertainment and eats. Some honorable brewery mentions would be Great Heights, Eureka, Astral, and Equal Parts to name a few.

As far as spots to eat, Houston has so many. Just to name a few, would have to be Lucille’s for their delicious menu, Onion Creek for not only their eats but great craft taps and great patio. Houston has several great breakfast/brunch spots, The Breakfast Klub, Snooze AM, and Brothers Taco House are only a few. As for BBQ there are some great places in the outer areas but if you wanna stick to the Houston proper area you can’t go wrong with Pinkertons and Truth BBQ.

For live music, some great drinks and a great hangout atmosphere there’s several spots throughout the city. To name a couple we would have to go with Axelrad with their great craft taps and comfortable/artsy setting. Heights Bier Garten would also be a great spot to hang out at as they not only have a great craft selection but a great cocktail bar as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would definitely like to express our deepest appreciation to The Brew Bros, Secret Beach, and Balcones Brewing/Distillery for their continued mentorship and support. They continue to go above and beyond for us.

We would also like to shoutout Astral Brewing, Flying Saucer, and Star Sailor for the encouragement and love they have shown us throughout our first year of business.
