We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’m a born creative. Since childhood, I have loved to draw, perform and create something from nothing. My professional career began in banking and and higher education.
Fast forward, I can never devalue the importance of that journey because I gained a plethora of knowledge in those roles that I now incorporate in my consultancy.
Nothing has been as rewarding as having my own business with clients who value my ideas, and love the results of my creativity.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I graduated from Grambling State University with a BA in Psychology. My career flourished in the financial industry for seven years before I accepted a position at my alma mater in enrollment management. While working on campus, I proceeded to enroll in the Master of Mass Communication program.
I continued to study and learn everything that I needed to know to start and maintain a successful creative consultancy.
For the past ten years, I have worked as a brand consultant and publicist alongside public figures, physicians, non-profits, and businesses. I am very passionate about the people that I serve. I have discovered my purpose.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends come to Houston, we must visit our favorite restaurants. I only have one requirement: First Watch for brunch! We can walk some of the the food off by visiting some of the city’s popular landmarks and shopping malls. We when it’s time dine again, there are so many choices that I can’t limit them. My suggestion would be Chauma Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse, but we will go wherever our vibe leads us!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband and cheerleader since day one, Earl Detrick.
