We had the good fortune of connecting with Isaac Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isaac, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was simple “I’m good doing this, I’m going to make it happen, rather struggle doing what I love to do than struggle doing what I don’t like to do”
Wanting to have my own business , my own rules. It took a lot of courage , sacrifice , research , mistakes , but at the end of the day its all part of the learning process.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got into this business because of my dad and all of it was by accident , i was 13 years old and my dad was just opening a barbecue restaurant, he didn’t have the money to buy plastic tables for the customers to sit and eat , so in that property we had a big cypress tree laying down , he got a chain saw made a extremely rough flint stone style looking table with that tree using what he had, next day a customer who was eating on it wanted to buy that table, that was the beginning of this he started making more artistic sculptures and furniture pieces for the restaurant without having a traditional knowledge of woodwork, learning by trial and error, till one day he decided focusing 100% on it. Me as his little helper witness of all inspired me so much.
Not easy, a lot of failures and challenges , learning how to buy & sell , how sometimes you get into stress for not having the income that you thought you would have, having the patience and strong will of not giving up on the bad moments.
My best advice is DONT DOUBT YOURSELF & NEVER GIVE UP sometimes when you fail you think ” well it wasn’t a good idea or it wasn’t meant to be , the reality is you only need to change your strategy change something about your initial plan and don’t loose the hunger of being successful
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Since 2003 to the present day it has been an honor to learn from my father Silvestre Garcia. He showed me that with hard work, persistence, and complete faith in yourself the sky is the limit. I found my passion and now I share it with each and every one of my customers by creating one of a kind artistic pieces.
He showed me how you never give up, how to stand up every time you fall. that is not easy but once you get that discipline nothing can stop you.
with all my love and appreciation thank you God & thank you dad!
