How did you choose a creative path?

Deciding to pursue an artistic or creative career path isn’t for the faint of heart. Challenges will abound, but so many of the artists we speak with couldn’t be happier with their choice. So, we asked them about how they made the decision in the first place.

The reason I pursue an artistic or creative career is because the sky is the limit. There are no rules for creativity, you just follow your imagination. My career in Interior Design grows and recharges every day with new ideas. The possibility of choices and combination of colors and textures are countless. I was introduced to acting from a local actor who has been in a few movies and I learned very quickly that I had a knack for it. That it was easy to switch my brain on and off so to speak. To find life experiences that could help me get into characters. Once I figured out how to do that, the body language just seemed to follow suit. I think I (Cullen Cauble) speak for the band when I say as cliche as it sounds we didn’t pick music it picked us. I started playing guitar out of a love for music at a time when I was lost and felt passionless about my future. Logan Allison our drummer was born in to a music family his father a session drummer and his mother an avid member of the early Houston music scene. I don’t know how Josue came to become a musician to be honest but I know he is just as passionate as we are. For me through music I found my passion and purpose it was a challenge to not only grow the band but ourselves as people. It forces us to dig deep down to understand ourselves at our cores and learn to express those feelings. Read more>>

it was kind of already destined for me from the jump. Both of my parents were artists, and they always pushed me to try anything and everything to really find my own way. I didn’t see myself doing anything. I just love making shit honestly. Read more>>

I am going to say art and creativity has been pursuing me from an early age! I grew up in a rural area where art wasn’t offered in our school. My mother drove me to the city once a week for art lessons at a studio. My art teacher was a free spirit. We never knew what to expect. I have carried that with me all of my life. It has followed me through my teens from making paper earrings to my love of repurposing with typewriter keys. It was always the perfect fit and what makes me happy, thinking outside the box. It was truly a blessing 21 years ago to discover that a career could be born out of it. Read more>>
