We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Koenig and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, what principle do you value most?
One of the most important values instilled in me growing up, and that continues to be important today as a professional, is integrity. Operating with honesty no matter if that’s with clients, colleagues, or passing conversations is foundational to building my business and brand. It is an honor to help families in selling their home or finding their dream home, and partnering with someone in such a large life decision shouldn’t be taken lightly. Even if the news may not be what the family was hoping for, I promise to always be open and honest with my clients. My hope is to build a lasting relationship with my clients not simply get them to the closing table and move on to the next. These lasting relationships will only stand the test of time if I uphold the values of integrity in all aspects of my career.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love being able to say that I love what I do! It is a joy and honor to partner alongside families as they end or begin a new chapter in their life. I pride myself on being able to be a go-to resource for my community regarding all the best that Fort Bend County has to offer in restaurants, shopping, events, lifestyle, and real estate. When you choose me as your agent, you are not just getting a trusted, respected realtor – you are getting a local expert who is passionate about serving our community and those who call it home. Having lived in Fort Bend County for almost 22 years, growing up in the area, this community has helped mold and shape who I am, being a product of the local school district, and a former district teacher; I have great insight into the area neighborhoods, amenities, and schools to provide to my clients while they look to plant roots.
I have adopted the business motto of “Service Regardless of Opportunity”; meaning no matter if there is an opportunity for me to gain a client or not, I will continue to provide the highest level of service, with full integrity and honesty, providing detailed information/education to all those I interact with as a local expert realtor. I strive to provide this service each and every day, from promoting local small businesses through my social media platforms and providing a list of local events and activities for families to enjoy each week. Each Monday, I feature a local business with a shoutout on all of my social media pages. The businesses that I focus on are local, small businesses, not large corporations. I want to be able to give back where I live by promoting these hard-working mom & pops and bringing greater community awareness to their brands. Each week I also compile a list of local events offered by the city or small businesses. I share these through my social media as well as an email newsletter. I also include a shoutout of the featured business for the week in the newsletter. I do these things without asking anything in return because I have fallen in love with this community and want everyone to be able to experience what makes this county great; the people, the rich history, and the diversity.
Essentially Fort Bend is a lifestyle brand that strives to be a cornerstone for all things that represent this county. I understand what makes our community and the people who call it home so special. From the fall County Fair and Parade in Richmond and Rosenberg to the unique local coffee shops and breweries to the Tree Lighting in Sugar Land Town Square. Fort Bend is a special place that I am proud to call home and raise my family.
That’s what it takes to truly be a local real estate expert. Not just expertise in negotiation and marketing and access to real-time market data, but love and understanding of our community and the people who live here is the foundation of everything I do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Fort Bend County is rich in history, diverse people and a beautiful blend of cultures. Many of the beginnings of the State of Texas have ties to Fort Bend County and there is so much history in the county seat of Richmond. I would most certainly take those visiting to downtown Richmond to explore some of these historic sites. A visit to Richmond wouldn’t be complete without a stroll through historic downtown area, stopping into some of the local artisan shops, coffee shops, and restaurants.
Our next stop would be Sugar Land, TX to visit the Sugar Land Town Square, which is a hub of local shopping, restaurants, and events in the area. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a romantic night out with your significant other or a fun night on the town with the family. Visitors can dine at a variety of types of cuisine, including some of the highest rated in the county, to fun places to enjoy a drink or dessert. Sugar Land Town Square also hosts events each weekend from live music, outdoor movies, dance lessons, and more.
Just around the corner is Sugar Land’s most iconic buildings, the old Imperial Sugar Factory. No longer in operation but still a staple of the city. The old sugar factory is now home to a weekly famers market every Saturday and also the site of an immersive Children’s museum.
These are just a few of the many, many things and places that I love so much about the Fort Bend County area. It would probably take a whole month to show you everything that makes this place so wonderful and special.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is to my family! To my husband for always being my biggest supporter and cheerleader throughout the evolution of my career. Encouraging me through the struggles, celebrating me during the successes, and for the many pep talks when I needed a boost. I cannot express how invaluable your unwavering confidence in me has been to get me to where I am today!
