We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Murley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business came from a mix of passion and necessity. I wanted to create a space where kids could play freely, imagine big, and build important social skills — while giving parents a place to relax, connect, and feel supported too. I saw a need for a play space that wasn’t just about entertainment, but about community. I realized if I wanted that kind of place to exist, I needed to build it myself. That’s what sparked the idea for Little Dreamers Playhouse.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Little Dreamers Playhouse is a place where kids can truly let their imaginations run wild — while parents can relax, connect, and enjoy the experience too. We’re not just another indoor playground; we’re a carefully designed play space with themed playhouses, a toddler area, a huge climbing structure, and thoughtful touches like free coffee and wifi for parents. What sets us apart is that we’re built for families, not just for kids — it’s a community space just as much as a play space.

I’m incredibly proud of the atmosphere we’ve created — a place where kids make new friends and memories, and where moms (and dads) feel seen and supported too.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Starting and running a business, especially one that’s so personal to me, has been full of challenges — learning curves, unexpected setbacks, and moments of doubt. But I overcame them by staying focused on my ‘why’ — creating a space that felt like a second home for families. I also leaned heavily on my support system, stayed flexible, and learned to celebrate even the small wins.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth often happens outside of your comfort zone — and that passion, persistence, and community are everything.

At the end of the day, I want people to know that Little Dreamers Playhouse was built with heart. It’s a dream that came to life because I truly believe in the power of play, imagination, and connection — for kids and for the grownups who love them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a family-owned small business, we love supporting other small businesses whenever we can — so if my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d definitely build an itinerary around our favorite local spots!

We’d start with a visit to The Painted Potter in downtown Montgomery — it’s one of our kids’ absolute favorite places to get creative. Lindsey, the owner, is so sweet and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere there makes you feel right at home. After some pottery fun, we’d grab lunch at Bar-A-BBQ — they have amazing food and that true Texas BBQ feel. For a nice dinner out, we love Ransom’s Steakhouse — it’s a great spot with live music, good vibes, and delicious food.

Throughout the week, we’d mix in some shopping downtown, spend time at local parks, and of course, we’d spend a day playing at Little Dreamers Playhouse! There’s nothing better than making memories with family and friends while supporting the local community at the same time.

Montgomery is full of charm, great people, and fun little gems — it’s the perfect place to slow down, connect, and really enjoy the moment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely — I have to give the biggest shoutout to my husband. He has been my rock through this entire journey. From the very beginning, he believed in my vision for Little Dreamers Playhouse even when it was just an idea on paper. He’s been there through every high and low, encouraging me to keep going, helping me problem-solve, and reminding me why I started when things got tough. I truly couldn’t have built this without his unwavering support, love, and belief in me. This dream became a reality because he was right there beside me every step of the way.
