We had the good fortune of connecting with Belkys Guerrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Belkys, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
From is very beginning, Bag Online Art Gallery was born with the desire to build cultural bridges between Latin American artists and the international public. More than a gallery, it has become a living platform that supports talent, promotes artistic education and gives visibility to young voices that deserve to be heard.
Through exhibitions, art fairs, and collaborations, BAG Art Gallery seeks to connect the sensitivity of art with the community, fostering dialogue, diversity, and inclusion. I deeply believe that art has the power to transform realities, inspire empathy, and unite people beyond borders or languages.
My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing how each exhibition opens new opportunities and how artists discover their own value by being represented with respect, professionalism, and love for what they do. That to me, is the true impact: turning art into a human bridge, not just a piece hanging on a wall.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BAG Online Art Gallery was born from the desire to create a platform that connects latin American artist with new audiences and exhibition spaces, both digital and in-person. From the very beginning, my purpose has been to offer a profesional and human showcase where each artist can present their work with dignity, curatorial care, and a narrative that reflects their essence.
What sets us apart is our closeness to the artists, our thoughtful curatorial selection, and our passion for building cultural bridges. Over these eight years, BAG Art Gallery has grown from Houston, expanding its presence nationally and international, organizing exhibitions, participating in art fairs, and promoting the integration of Latin American art into the global market.
It has not been an easy path starting and sustaining an independent art project requires perseverance, faith, and great adaptability. I’ve learned that challenges can become opportunities for growth and that art holds a transformative power when managed with love and vision.
Today, what makes me most proud is the community that has grown around BAG Art Gallery: artists, collectors, curators, museographers, and friends who believe in the power of art to inspire and connect. I want the world to know that BAG Online Art Gallery is more than a gallery; it is a story of passion, resilience, and unity through art.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is a city full of life, diversity, and creativity, and I love sharing its most authentic places with those who visit. If I were to plan a special week for a friend, I would start in the Museum District, with a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) and the Contemporary Arts Museum (CAMH) two inspiring spaces that always feed my creativity.
From there, we would enjoy a walk through Buffalo Bayou Park, the perfect spot to disconnect and see the city from another perspective. For lunch, I love Lucille’s, with its contemporary Southern cuisine, or Tiny Boxwoods, a charming garden like space surrounded by greenery, offering a relaxed and elegant atmosphere.
In the afternoon, a stop in Montrose is a must a vibrant area filled with galleries, cafes, and local shops full of character.
We’d end the day in The Heights, having a relaxed dinner at Coltivare or Flora, paired with a good conversation and a beautiful view of the city.
For art lovers, I recommend exploring the local studios during the Art Crawls or visiting Sawyer Yards, a space that perfectly captures Houston’s creative energy.
Houston has a unique magic it combines the multicultural with the intimate, the artistic with the everyday. It’s a city best experienced through its flavors, its people, and its art.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this recognition to muy children, Victoria and Jesse, who are my greatest inspiration and the deepest reason behind my daily effort. Through them, I understand the true meaning of love, perseverance, and hope.
Also to my Husband, Ben, for his unconditional support and for believing in my dreams even when the path seemed uncertain.
To the artists who have trusted me and BAG Online Art Gallery from the very beginning your passion and art are the reason this project continues to grow.
And in a very special way, to Felix Suazo, Gerardo Zavarce, Rosa Ana Orlando, Eva Mendoza Chandas, and Pietro Daprano, for their guidance, friendship, and constant support.
To Carolina Perez, who has accompanied me with enthusiasm, sensitivity, and affection every time I embark on a project in Miami.
To Bielistki Prada and Mila Magrini, for being in charge of the cocktail and for delighting both artists and the public with their flavors and culinary creations, turning each encounter into an unforgettable experience.
And to all those who, over these eight years, have collaborations with me and BAG Art Gallery in different roles, curators, museographers, collectors, installers, designers, friends, and art companions. Thank you, thank you for being part of this journey. It truly takes an incredible team to make every project shine.
