We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Diamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, why did you pursue a creative career?
Art is what gives life excitement and feeling, it gives meaning and purpose to the little tasks we do each day. Getting to be someone who provides artwork in any form to the world is a blessing in itself, but getting to create music is the most satisfying thing there is.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I really make an effort to show people something they’ve never heard before. Whether it’s a really spicy chord, a tight groove, or a modern take on a jazz standard. The most important thing I’ve learned is to make things that you think sound good. Don’t worry about what everybody else has going on, it won’t feel the same. Make music to express yourself and have fun, anything else is just extra.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
– Axelrad Jazz Nights – Georgia James Tavern
– 19th Street for your shopping needs
– Lee & Joe Jamail Skatepark

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shout out to my folks, my biggest supporters since day one. Love you guys.
