We had the good fortune of connecting with BRENDA PENTECOST and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BRENDA, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I enjoy bringing friends and family together to create lasting memories, and I have a deep passion for travel. Bringing these two passions together led me to become a travel agent, offering services to book cruises, all-inclusive vacations, and tour packages both within the U.S. and abroad.

What should our readers know about your business?
Being a travel agent has allowed me to help families and friends come together and create unforgettable memories. I love offering personalized service to my clients. Life is all about sharing moments with loved ones, and it’s too short not to seize every opportunity to make those memories.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1 begins with a drive through Downtown Houston to admire the skyline, followed by checking into the Lancaster Hotel for an overnight stay. Dinner would be at Birraporetti’s, capped off with a show at either the Houston Ballet (especially if the Nutcracker is playing) or the Houston Grand Opera. Day 2 starts with a bountiful breakfast buffet at the Cadillac Bar on Sheppard Drive, followed by a relaxing walk through the butterfly exhibit at the Museum of Natural Science to end the day. Day 3 takes us to Galveston/Kemah area for a two-night stay at either the Grand Galvez or Tremont Hotel. Galveston offers plenty of historical buildings to explore and charming shops around the Kemah or Strand area. A visit to Pelican Island to see the historic submarine at Seawolf Park is a must, ending the night with dinner at the renowned Gaido’s Restaurant in Galveston or one of the many restaurants in Kemah. On Day 5, heading back north, we’ll stop at La Carafe, Houston’s oldest business establishment, to enjoy its stunning architecture and a glass of wine while reminiscing about the memories we made throughout the visit. Day 6 includes a tour of the unique Newman’s Castle in Bellville following by lunch at the Newman’s Bakery. Finally, Day 7 features a visit to Old Town Spring for some shopping in its quaint shops, followed by a leisurely lunch.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Throughout my life, I’ve had many mentors who encouraged me to aim high and helped me see that I was stronger than I believed I was. There are two women in particular that I would like to thank…my friends Annette Zinn and Icha Kerr. They both pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, supported me by sharing their knowledge, and showed me I could achieve anything I set my mind to. I am grateful for their belief in my abilities.
