Meet Cheron Griffin | Registered Dental Hygienist I Creative I Connector I Conduit

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheron Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cheron, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
As a registered dental hygienist of 30 years, I needed to find something that I knew like the back of my hand. I have created multiple business entities, but I know dentistry like I know my name or riding a bike or driving a car. Providing a teeth whitening service in a luxury setting was a no brainer; however, I extended my services to offer dental tourism and vacations among other services like tooth gems and buccal massages. And, because I am “a creative,” I added a selfie room at our location. We offer an experience not just a service. Sometimes, you have to allow the unicorn within to lead.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is About Your Smile Luxury Teeth Whitening Bar where “sexy teeth are the sexy you.” Teeth Whitening is a small part of what we do; building relationships and educating clients is just as important to us. At our location, we also offer dental tourism and vacations which allows clients to get quality dental care out the country at 70% the cost even with dental insurance. We’ve partnered with dentists in Colombia, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. Why not vacation and get your teeth done – crowns, bridges, veneers, dental implants, or a total mouth reconstruction? If you need it, our dentist can do it. We also offer buccal massages that increase collagen and blood flow in the face for those who DO NOT want injectables and fillers. Buccal massages also help those who grind their teeth by relieving the stress of the TMJ muscle, reducing pain upon opening and closing the mouth. And finally, we do tooth gems which give pizzazz to one’s smile.
Our location is unique in the aspect that it is elegant with chandeliers, velvet chairs and great music. We also have a selfie room for unique photo opportunities. It’s the vibe for me. Besides being sexy and chic, we also host bridal parties and other events that suit the client. Teeth whitening parties are also available because we can operate 4 chairs at one time. Our space can transform into whatever you want. We are having our first Adult Sip and Paint.
About Your Smile Luxury Teeth Whitening Bar is perfect for brides, bridal parties, graduates, quinceaneras, divorcees, business women and men, and those who want a whiter brighter smile. A healthy whiter smile can transform your life by building your confidence and attracting more people to you, increasing your wealth by 12% according to the University of California. Let us transform your smile at an affordable price whether it’s teeth whitening or a dental vacation. Remember, “sexy teeth are the sexy you.” Franchise opportunities are coming soon.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my BFF was coming to Houston for a week, of course I’d have to whiten her teeth at About Your Smile Luxury Teeth Whitening Bar. After that, we have to take some dope photos with JP Hanney Photography. We’d eat at Drunken Corner on Berry Road. We’d have great daiquiris at Happy Daiquiri in Spring and we’d party the night away at Prospect Park. During the week, we’d have a lunch or two at POST Houston. Because I’m an animal person, the zoo is definite. Because my BFF loves to shop, we’d go to the Galleria to spend money. After the Galleria, dessert is a must have at ChocolatZeina. The week wouldn’t be the week without going to the Space Center and the Museum District.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My credit is given to Rita Dobson, the woman who allowed me to be me when I was age 15. She kicked me out of choir rehearsal and called my mother with me standing beside her. My mother said and I quote, ” I don’t know what to do with her.” Rita became my mentor and my friend since then. I could talk to her about anything without being judged, ridiculed, or corrected. Rita allowed me to express my feelings and emotions. I needed that and I needed her. She is what most young people need now, a voice and an ear. I am forever grateful and compassionate to others because of her. We are still friends and connected. She catapulted my life in an amazing direction that I am proud of. And, I have dedicated much of my life mentoring girls through my non profit organization Grow A Girl Network, Inc which I recently moved to Texas from New Jersey.
