We had the good fortune of connecting with Estefania Saavedra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Estefania, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Being your true self. Growing up, there were times where I was told how I was supposed to look, or what to wear or how to act. Whether if it was a family member, a friend or what I saw on TV or magazines, it still impacted me. So I created this thought in my mind that I shouldn’t show too much of who I really was because it wasn’t good enough. When I started my videos on Tik Tok, I saw that people love to see realness and raw. Videos that they can relate to. I started being more comfortable in showing a full figured shot, showing my insecurities like my double chin. I started singing and dancing, even if it wasn’t perfect. And then, only then, I realized that while I felt comfortable and loved the person who I truly was (the goofy, imperfect, big girl who loves hard,) nothing can stop me from being my true self.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am what they call a “jack of all trades is a master of none” type of girl. But I always like to add the rest of the quote which is, “but oftentimes better than a master of one.” I don’t like to just be good at one thing. I like to try new things and I feel like it brings out more of my creative side. I love to sing, I call it my first passion because I remember singing at 4 years old in front of everyone and just loving it, not being shy at all. I also love to dance and act, I love to paint and love makeup! Most of these things, I taught myself and although some were easier to learn than others, I think the process of learning, was the most fun. I did stop singing for some time because I was hard on myself, thinking I wasn’t good enough or people telling me that I will never be a good singer or needed to lose weight to become one. You know, it was never about being famous or being this superstar. I just loved it. It’s still a struggle at times but I always try to remember that it makes me happy and at the end of the day, that’s what matters.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is so big! I always say it takes an hour to get from Houston to Houston! Haha! Downtown Houston is one of my favorite places to visit because of the skyrises and all of the buildings surrounding downtown. One of my favorite spots is the Water Wall. It has this tall wall with a beautiful waterfall. It’s perfect for pictures, and Tik Tok videos! I also love to go to mom and pop restaurants where you know the food is gonna be amazing! There is this restaurant/ market called “Gorditas Aguascalientes” and it has the best tacos there! You sit right by where they are cooking and preparing the tortillas. Cannot forget the Aguas Frescas (natural juices!) I also like to stay close to home and find places that you wouldn’t think to go to. If you are traveling through Texas, you have to stop at Bucee’s! Yes, its a gas station, but it’s huge! Thankfully there’s one close to home so I always try to stop there so they can see this Walmart size gas station. From the home goods, to the Bucee’s t-shirts to their yummy BBQ, this place is definitely on my places to visit list.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to do what I love and in helping me bring so much joy to many. My family who at first didn’t understand what a content creator was or what Tik Tok was, haha! But was always so supportive. My mom is literally my #1 fan! My closest friends who are my cachiporreras (cheerleaders) Tati, Natalie, Gorane and Binalee, you girls are amazing. Also, I have met some amazing content creators as well who while working together, we also encourage each other and are there to help out. Not only are they content creators but also my friends, Jenny (@es_jenny_solares) and Carlitos (@carlosemmanuelcal). To my management team, my mentors, mis amigas, Becky and Sherm from Millie.UnPlacer. Thank you for listening and being a guide for me. And I cannot end this without thanking my followers, my friends. None of this would have been possible without the love and support of you. I love y’all so much!
