We had the good fortune of connecting with Estela Cockrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Estela, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was never about “starting a business” it was about taking my passion and experience with health, wellness, and beauty and sharing that story with others. Through the passion, the business of developing products and creating the Wellery found me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At Switch2Pure we believe our tribe is everything. And, our communication is key and thru our lens of our “purists”. We enjoy creating beautiful visual graphics, and helping purists with their best asset (wellness and glow, of course). That is how we express our “art” and this keeps us very busy. Beauty and art are so unique for each person so we are constantly checking in with our purists to make sure we are communicating our message, crafting our artwork and making sure we meet each purist on their journey. We also like to amplify all types of women and men so that Some of the challenges along the way have been fatigue, because of the pandemic our art direction and communication has been stressful and with that creeps fatigue. We have had to pivot and bring our purists a message that is authentic and light hearted.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start the morning with a brunch at a fabulous Mexican restaurant especially if they are visiting from out of state. Then we would go to the Menil, my favorite place in the city for art. From there, we would plan a few shopping excursions around the city and we would end the afternoon at S2P for a Notox facial of course. Afterwards, we would grab a glass of wine, cheese & charcuterie board right next door at Tiny Boxwoods. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Too many to name… but there are two beauty industry insiders really forged the way for me. They helped me with meetings, connections, introductions without which I would not be where I am today. Also, the 12,000 Switch2Pure “purists” and shoppers and 15,000 Instagram followers that make our tribe and to them we want to give a shoutout. Shelly Mattson, Liz Decanio, Jade Ingel, Brittney Van Doleman, to name a few.
