We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Rorie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With a focus on cyber risk management and control testing for the small and medium business sector, Elevated Technologies protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of their clients through their signature triad of services- technology, training, and insurance. Founded by Jason Rorie, US Navy Veteran and author of “Small Business- A Hacker’s Playground”, his belief that adding value always wins over perception fueled his passion for founding Elevated Technologies and fill the void he saw in the small and medium business sector.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so much to see and do in Houston! We’d catch and Astros and/or Texans game. Stop by and grab a steak at Steak 48 or Flemings. If the timing is right, catch a concert at the Toyota Center or Woodland Pavilion. Pack a bag because there is so much to do, you’ll need more than a week!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Shoutout is dedicated to my children, family, friends, and colleagues. Without the people who I’ve met over the years, my decisions would not have been the same. Thank you for helping shape my life. Good and bad. In the end, there is a real benefit to removing the negative from your life and surrounding yourself with awesome people who motivate you and bring out the best in you. Thank you to those people in my life. Also, I appreciate the people who brought negativity into my life; without you, I would not have realized failure and been able to grow from those experiences.
