We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenya Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenya, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
My mother and father has been my inspiration. My mother graduated 2 years ago with her Master’s in Nursing (ARNP). She has shown me that you have to keep going no matter what. She has always had that drive and I can honestly say that she definitely motivates me no matter what path I take. My father is a physical therapist assistant, into real estate, and he manages his finances very well. So I can definitely say they have and is still molding me til this very day. I’ve always been on my own path. I’ve never taken interest in what’s trending or what everyone else is doing. My parents have always shown me to take my own path and stay focused.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have my Bachelors Degree in Health Services Administration. I graduated in 2017 and I can honestly say it has been a struggle trying to find employment with my degree without a certification/license. I was able to obtain a position as a Administrative Coordinator at Substance Abuse Outpatient Facility. It is a major blessing for someone to give me an opportunity without much experience. I’ve learned that you should take the path you want to take. Do what makes sense to you. I’ve cried night and day about where I am today, but this is not it for me. I’m always looking for new business ventures.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is actually a good question. I’m new to Texas. Places that I enjoyed would be Kamp Houston because of the music, food, and the vibe. Flava is nice the music and food. Uptown good music and drinks. Turkey Leg Hut because it’s part of the Houston experience and the turkey legs are delicious! Definitely not overrated. Pappadeaux Seafood is always a must and let’s not forget the Breakfast Klub (the catfish!). I love to sightsee as well so I would say Hermann Park, the Waterwall, Seismique Museum. These are just a few places that I enjoy

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I honestly can say that my husband Javaris Green deserves a lot of credit. We were both born and raised in St Petersburg, FL. We move to Katy, TX after we got married in July 2020. With my business ventures he stays on top of me with my finances, creativity, and marketing.
