We had the good fortune of connecting with Krystal Onuorji and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krystal, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always knew that I would start my own business, but I didn’t know what kind of business it would be? When I finally decided that it was going to be jewelry and accessories, I knew that I wanted it to be excellent quality at a cost efficient prices. Most importantly I wanted to do something for women.
What should our readers know about your business?
I believe what sets me apart from others is that you can buy or even pick up, same day, the latest jewelry and accessories you see your favorite influencers, or maybe even celebrity wear at an affordable price. I got to where I am at business wise from constant research, learning trends, trusting my vision, and just getting advice from the right people. I don’t believe running a business is ever easy. There have been times I wasn’t in the best mental space and didn’t have the energy to pour into my business. I overcame those challenges by keeping a positive support group around me. One of the two main lessons I’ve learned along the way is to be intentional with everything and to also trust your vision. Never let anyone deter you from that. I want the world to know that Essx The Brand is just getting started, stay tuned 😉
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much to here in Houston and so many new spots as well. I would say check out the Downtown area, River Oaks/Galleria, and Montrose area for sure.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate a shoutout to my younger sister Kayla, Hollie Cooper, ForeverShyneice, and last but not least Ant. These individuals were the most influential to me and have helped me so much. Much love to them all!
