We had the good fortune of connecting with Nena Metcalf and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nena, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is an important part of being a business owner. I am not someone who sticks with the status quo. Being able to take risks and look fear dead in the face has proved to be an effective method in growing my business and leading my team.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always known that I wanted to create something unique and special for families. I’ve taken a more classic approach to photography and have worked tirelessly to create something that will become a crown jewel in our client’s homes. We create heirloom portraiture that will stand the test of time. Quality is kept at the forefront of our process and we are proud to deliver our clients a superior art piece.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, it would definitely depend on which friend was coming into town 🙂 But my out of town friends and I usually start with a hotel home base – Hotel Zaza Museum District is my fav 🙂 We continue with time by the pool, head to the spa for a few hours of services, perhaps shopping at the Galleria or River Oaks District. We for sure will hit a variety of Houston’s unique and amazing restaurants. I’m a big foodie as are most of my friends. We all enjoy amazing wine, stellar experiences and each other’s company.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mentors and coaches who have always pushed me to do, be and create more!
