We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Tapia Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It all started back when i was a young kid and i instantly fell in love with art. Since then i’ve always dreamt about sharing my self through my art to everyone.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art’s style has come a very long way since I’ve started, I’ve experimented with different types of themes and art through out my life, But the one that stick out to me the most, is one of my current favorite types of painting style, which has to be acrylic painting, because I have a passion for mixing different beautiful colors to create a one of a kind piece. I got where i am today from the support of my friends and family, and loved one for always supporting me, and putting myself out there which can sometimes be scary, but with their help and advice made the road go more smoothly. Finally, Some lessons I’ve learned along the way were to not try to satisfy other people and give them what they want, but rather make the art you want and what makes you happy, so you can have a more meaningful connection with both your art pieces and the audience.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite places and my to go to’s would have to be Axelrad Beer Garden, because they have a good vibe to it, where you can sit down on their huge backyard on some really comfortable hammocks and talk to friends while enjoying a drink and have some food, in my opinion Luigi’s pizza is one of the best pizza’s in Houston that i’ve tried so far, and all while listening to live music. And to get food would have to be my second favorite place of mine which it’s this cute little restaurant called Tout Suite also located near the art zone of downtown, where you can go for a metting, study and even hang out with friends, and enjoy some of their food and desserts. And for having a girls night out, Number’s nightclub is always my go to!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Sounds really cheesy to say, but i would not be where i am today if it wasn’t for the love and support around me. So i would love to give a big thanks my friends, to my family, and to my loved one for supporting me since the beginning and encourage me to put my art out there and even coming to the events with me, since the beginning from the first ever exposition i attended till now.
