We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I was often told that the fitness industry was very competitive, which made me apprehensive about starting my own fitness and nutrition business. However, I would receive excellent feedback when sharing my business ideas with my family and friends. My support system encouraged me to take a leap of faith and just go for it. I knew my business would be different from others because I wanted to integrate healthy meals, fitness classes, and personalized merchandise in my own unique way. Once I stopped doubting myself and gained the confidence to push forward, my business began growing. Through all the trials and tribulations of starting a new business, my patience and drive to succeed pushed me through difficult times.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
CynFit Integral Fitness LLC is unique as it is an all in one business for your fitness and nutritional needs. I offer healthy meal preps that include nutritional facts. I also offer High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout classes that incorporate bands, weights, and your own body weight. I used to be insecure about my weight as I was 40lbs heavier before starting my fitness journey. I know firsthand how it feels to not know where to start when you are ready for a change. I like that my business provides a comfortable environment that accommodates the various fitness levels of my clients. There have been instances where I receive messages of people hesitant to try my HIIT class, but I reassure them that I provide modifications and tailor the workout to meet everyone’s needs. Seeing the physical results and the confidence gained from my clients is what makes me most proud. I have learned that fitness comes in all shapes and sizes. Rather you’re trying to lose weight, gain muscle, or just live a healthier lifestyle, I’m here for it! I’ll be cheering for you as you push yourself to limits you did not know you could reach.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I enjoy venturing out and visiting popular hotspots recommended by Houston Instagram bloggers. Riding bikes at Buffalo Bayou Park followed by watching the bats fly off at sunset is an absolute must. El tiempo is my go-to restaurant because you can never go wrong with a bomb margarita.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My fiancé has always been my #1 supporter. Chris White from Fit with Chris guided me from the beginning of my fitness journey and inspires me daily to keep pushing. Keith Thompson with KTX Fitness is another great mentor in my life. I will always be grateful for my family and friends’ continued support.
