We had the good fortune of connecting with Heidy Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heidy, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Discovering and experiencing new things and giving my time to things that give me a sense of fulfillment make me happy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the person behind the scenes of Bites-n-Sites HTX! My Instagram page showcases a lot of food and beverage spots from restaurants to bars and coffee shops, but I also share about events, pop-ups, artwork and murals, businesses and services around the city. Basically, all things Houston! I love to travel as well and share some of my travel adventures here and there to bring experiences beyond Houston. Bites-n-Sites HTX has allowed me to document and share my findings around the city and beyond with others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Picking a couple of favorite spots in the city is hard because Houston has so many gems to offer! But some of favorite spots for brunch include Bloom & Bee, Rosalie inside the C. Baldwin Hotel, and The Annie Cafe and Bar. Some of my favorite coffee shops are Cafe Poetes, Sunday Press, Proper Rose Garden, and Luce Coffee Roasters. Other Houston spots I really like are Fiori, Guard and Grace, and the Houston Arboretum.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a special shoutout to my sister Vannesa from @veryvannesa. She motivated me to start Bites-n-Sites HTX and continues to encourage me to post the content that brings me joy. I also want to give my family a shoutout, including my sister Diana, and my friends that support my hobby. They send me ideas of places to visit next, patiently wait for pictures before taking a bite of food, and start adjusting props themselves for photos now!
