For me when we started Athletically Declined Sports, It is not an exaggeration to say for the the first 6-8 months about 3-4 of us were getting 2-3 Hrs of sleep a night for about 80% of the week, The reason is for myself and others we have kids, wives , girlfriends as well as full time jobs. The only time we had was after all of that which, on top of our night owl instincts, really boiled down to what I call stubborn drive. Stubborn drive to me goes beyond regular drive because it forces you to forget that there is another option. Making AD work and becoming successful was our only option, so all that to say drive to see this become bigger than ourselves. Read more>>

A big contributor is that I don’t take myself too seriously or worry about what others think. If I want to try something, I go for it. If it resonates with my clients and audience, I lean in harder. Ultimately, I’m always learning, growing, and evolving my business. Read more>>
Regina Cruz | Licensed Massage Therapist, Licensed Esthetician, Creator of Total Body Niche
The utmost important factor behind my success in building my business and brand is hands down consistency. Showing up day in and day out to build onto this idea I’ve conjured up in my mind. Consistency requires action and with action comes clarity, sounds cliche but it’s factual. The idea of Total Body Niche, the brand we are building hasn’t swayed much but the journey here has been everything but linear. No matter the struggle, no matter the move, no matter the amount of times I’ve had to rebuild my client base (which this is the 4th time) I’ve remained consistent in my efforts to bring this idea to fruition. Education would be my end goal to this process. There is so much information on the subject of our personal endogenous cannabinoid system. We have receptors in our body specifically for the entourage effect the be a true medical delivery system. Dr. Raphael Mechoulem and his team in Israel have the scientific research dating back to 1995. Legislators use the excuse of “no research” to justify their inaction. The time has come to show the research and hold these people to their oaths to “First do no harm.” Read more>>
Jasmin Simone Rainbow | Artist & Entrepreneur
I am from DFW, Texas. I was raised by a big loving Christian family. For as long as I can remember both my parents and grandparents instilled in me the importance of having manners as well as speaking and acting with love, kindness, and respect. As I got older and began to have my own life experiences, I became more empathetic as well as emotionally intelligent and refined my communication, social, and interpersonal skills to not only serve those around me but myself. So with time, this Southern charm, grace, and fervent heart for people I possess seemed to come quite naturally. Read more>>
Randee Spruce | Curator & Artist
I grew up on the Allegany Territory of the Seneca Nation in western New York and i have been here most of my life. I have been influemced by my surroundings and cultural upbringing in all things artistic. My first love was fashion design and drawing which was followed by learning how to sew and practice beadwork. I believe the Hodi:nohšyönih stories told to me while i was young and being immersed in the Onöndowa’ga’ language really puts in perspective that we are our own people with our own culture. I wish to share my culture through my artwork and make people feel in ways that words can sometimes fall short. Read more>>

Jordan Cutler | Destination Marketer + Owner of Strategic Solutions Agency
Having a strong work ethic was instilled in me at an early age, something I’m sure many kids of color can relate to. I remember being in middle school as a P.K. (pastor’s kid) organizing church events and in high school working two part time jobs while still participating in so many extracurricular activities. Back then, laziness wasn’t an option. My world revolved around work and achievement. Every task completed was a badge of honor, a sign of progress. Well, I carried that mentality throughout high school, college and into my career and found my self over-worked and quite frankly, exhausted. Read more>>
